the mighty chicken

There once lived an eagle on a mountain side that had four eggs in its nest. One day the mountain trembled from an earthquake. One of the eggs rolled out of the nest and rolled all the way down the hill, landing next to a farm. A chicken saw the egg and did what it always had done, that was to nurture the egg, sit on it and keep it warm untill it hatched.

Once it hatched, out came this strange looking chicken. It was an eagle but it was raised by the chickens in the chicken coop and there-fore believed it was a chicken. One day while playing the little eagle looked up high in the sky and saw the eagles flying just under the heavens. “Boy, I wish I could fly like those guys.” The eagle proclaimed.

“You can’t fly with those birds, your a chicken,” the other chiclets laughed. Even though the eagle was equipped with the tools to fly like an eagle physically, mentally it was chicken. Because it was raised by chickens it had a chicken’s mentality. Always being told that it can’t fly like an eagle, the eagle never attempted to be an eagle.

(moral: you become what you believe you are, so if you ever dream to fly with eagles, follow your dream.)

…then I found this little ‘dilly’…

Deep within a forest, a little turtle began to climb a tree. After hours of effort, he reached the top, jumped into th air waving his front legs and crashed to the ground. After recovering, he slowly climbed the tree again, jumped, and fell to the ground. The turtle tried again and again, while a couple of birds sitting on a branch watched his efforts. inally, the female bird turned to her mate. “Dear,” she chirped, “I think it’s time to tell him he’s adopted.”

(chuckles; and here we have a turtle that thinks it can fly. I bet, even after it is told it can’t fly, it continues to try.)

food for thought

Man, alone, has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality; man, alone, can dream and make his dreams come true.
Napoleon Hill

I don’t dream at night, I dream all day; I dream for a living.
Steven Spielberg

The key to happiness is having dreams. The key to success is making your dreams come true.

When your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme.
