lunar pearl
Lunar Pearl
dust cast
in the muscle of space
patiently rotating over and over, aged
creating its polished appeal
as it adorns the night sky
illuminating our lives
a gem laid upon black velvet
enlightenment
in a dark clammy world
under the sparkling stars back drop
alluring oval of brilliant white
mystical and ancient light
high in the night sky rides
the lunar pearl

“Enlightenment in a dark, clammy world”– Wow, does that say whole libraries worth of volumes about us, both at the macro and the micro level! But I am still wondering about why you chose “clammy”. Could you please elucidate?

clam=pearl… it fit better than oyster, merely a pin to the point, thank you for your comment and humbled that you enjoyed the poem.

Aha, the light has now entered a previously dark corner of granbee’s brain! Thanks a million for your reply–of COURSE “clammy” works better that “oystery”, duh! Sealife you were speaking of! On the other hand, “oi-stirr-EEEEEEh!” just might accurately describe what just happened in said dark corner, then underwater, of said granbee’s brain after receiving your MOST welcome reply to my comment today on your LUNAR PEARL post. Gotta luv ya!

I like the reference of the moon to a pearl – that’s creative. The discombobulated building is great! Nice artwork again.

Nice implied colors via light and dark and images like the pearl!
