One afternoon a Fox was walking through the forest when he spotted a bunch of grapes hanging from a lofty branch.
“Just the thing to quench my thirst,” thought the Fox.
Taking a few steps back the fox jumped and just missed the inviting batch of grapes hanging from the over head branch.
Again the fox stepped back a few paces then attempted to jump up and grab the grapes but missed them again and again.
Finally , giving up, the fox turned up his nose and said, “They’re probably sour anyway,” and proceeded to walk away.
The Moral… It is easy to dispise that which you can not have.
I was trying to figure out why a couple people were unhappy with me at work. I did not allow it to bother me but when I got into a conversation with another individual they enlightened me to the fact that ‘they don’t like happy people, because they can not find peace within themself.’
This reminded me of the serpent and the firefly, where the serpent chases the firefly till the firefly finally stops and asks why are you chasing me and the serpent replys, “I don’t like the way you shine.”
Be your self, is what I always say but if your unhappy all the time you might try and find a way to change that. In a Conversation with another individual I was enlightened (and I love being enlightened or gaining wisdom) about the spirit within our selves, some find ways to charge the spirit with positive energy and some do nothing to enhance the spirit. I thought about my addiction to find Zen in everything and placing them here on the blog, Zendictive. I encourage every one to seek and find something every day that will charge the spirit within in a positive way.
I was noticing the signs at work that read, “Wet Paint,” and became engrossed in the idea of renewing the old. They put new wax on the floor and took the dull and made it shine. I have been driving on dirt roads for the last month due to road construction going to town. The other day they finally paved the road and I thought of how sometimes we have to become a mess to make something new. In order for us to go through our lives easier and appreciate it we have to endure the rough. Finding a way to look at the old moon in a new way.
Train the mind, strengthen the body and enrich the spirit
